Sacramento Kings Roster Report 2009-01-30

Sacramento Kings Roster Report 2009-01-30
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Beno Udrih, Shooting guard Kevin Martin, Small forward John Salmons, Power forward Jason Thompson, Center Brad Miller. Bench -- Forward-Guard Francisco Garcia, Center Spencer Hawes, Guard Bobby Brown.

PLAYER NOTES:

--G Beno Udrih has been outplayed plenty of times this season, but he was simply outclassed against Boston's Rajon Rondo on Wednesday. While Udrih had four points and three assists in playing just 20 minutes, his inability to keep up with the speedy Rondo minimized his minutes while the Celtics point guard had 24 points and nine assists.

--G Bobby Brown played 27 minutes against Boston on Wednesday, marking the most playing time the rookie has seen since the last time the Kings faced the Celtics on Dec. 28. Brown winds up playing more against the physical Celtics because of his defensive abilities, although he did little to slow down Rajon Rondo and hardly ran the team well on the other end as he had no assists. Brown did manage to hit four of 11 shots (including three three-pointers) to finish with 13 points.

--F Jason Thompson was disappointed that he wasn't selected for the Rookie Challenge on All-Star Weekend, but the starter continued to have a strong debut season by finishing with 21 points and 11 rebounds against Boston. Thompson hit seven of 10 shots and scored in double digits for the 10th straight game.
