Sean Singletary, PG, 6-foot, Virginia -- After pulling out of the 2007 draft and returning to Virginia for his senior season, it appears Singletary might have made the right move. He was dealt to Houston in August as part of the Ron Artest deal.

Patrick Ewing Jr., PF, 6-8, Georgetown -- While many expected the son of Knicks great Patrick Ewing to go undrafted, the Kings took a flyer on this high-flyer. He was dealt to Houston in August as part of the Ron Artest deal.

PLAYER NOTES:

--Beno Udrih re-signed for five years and approximately $33 million. The 25-year-old had planned on playing for his national team in Slovenia, but decided against it so he could train for next season. Udrih will begin his regimen in Las Vegas, working out with the Kings summer league team and strength coach Daniel Shapiro to get his body right.

--C Brad Miller will be suspended five games to start next season for violating the terms of the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program. The announcement came on July 10. According to the Sacramento Bee, Miller failed a drug test for marijuana for a third time.

--Kings shooting guard Kevin Martin played with the Olympic select team in late July in Las Vegas as they prepared for the Games in Beijing that begin this week. The select team's charge is to scrimmage the U.S. team as they prepare in practice. The distinction is often seen as a possible primer to being picked for the national team itself in the subsequent Olympics.

--Third-year guard Quincy Douby started his season on the right track at Las Vegas summer league last month after a disappointing 2007-08 campaign. The scorer out of Rutgers had 36 points against Golden State on July 18 and averaged 22.3 points while shooting 48.3 percent from the field.
