Sacramento Kings Roster Report 2008-11-23

Sacramento Kings Roster Report 2008-11-23
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Beno Udrih, Shooting guard John Salmons, Small forward Donte' Greene, Power forward Jason Thompson, Center Brad Miller. Bench -- Center Spencer Hawes, Guard Bobby Brown, Guard Bobby Jackson, Guard Quincy Douby, Forward Shelden Williams, Forward Kenny Thomas.

PLAYER NOTES:

--F Jason Thompson continues his push toward what could become a permanent starting job. The rookie is in the lineup because of injuries, as the Kings remain without Kevin Martin, Francisco Garcia and Mikki Moore. But after posting career highs in points (19) and rebounds (12) against Portland, it will be hard for Kings coach Reggie Theus to pull him out of the lineup even when his squad is fully healthy.

--G/F John Salmons finally cooled off from his recent hot streak, scoring just eight points on 4-of-12 shooting against New Orleans. Coming in, Salmons had averaged 24.8 points on 62.9 percent shooting (39 of 62) overall in the last five games.

--C Brad Miller may not be part of the Kings' youth movement, but he's been a big part of their plans nonetheless. The 11-year veteran entered averaging 35.9 minutes per game, then logged 29 against Portland. While his consistent rebounding and occasional offensive spark are part of his appeal for Theus, it's his passing ability and importance in the team's high-post system that have led to his floor time.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--G/F Francisco Garcia (strained right calf) has yet to play in the regular season but he may return next week.

--G Kevin Martin (sprained left ankle) has missed the last six games and is not expected to play until Wednesday against New Jersey at the earliest.

--F Mikki Moore (turned right ankle) did has missed three games and is day-to-day.
