Sacramento Kings Roster Report 2009-11-10

Sacramento Kings Roster Report 2009-11-10ROTATION: Starters -- Guard Beno Udrih, Guard Tyreke Evans, Small forward Andres Nocioni, Power forward Jason Thompson, Center Spencer Hawes. Bench -Forward Omri Casspi, Forward Ime Udoka, Forward Kenny Thomas, Guard Sergio Rodriguez, Forward Jon Brockman.

--G Beno Udrih had yet another stellar outing against Golden State on Sunday, finishing with 20 points on 9-of-14 shooting with six assists and two turnovers. In the last four games, Udrih has averaged 16.3 points on 55.1 percent shooting, 4.2 assists and 1.5 turnovers in the last four games. This, of course, is the same player who was ridiculed for much of last season when his poor play didn't reflect the value of his five-year, $32 million contract signed in the summer of 2008.

--F Jason Thompson is impressing Kings coach Paul Westphal almost every time out. His latest strong outing was a 19-point, 10-rebound performance in Sunday's win over Golden State.

"He's playing at a high level," Westphal said. "I have a lot of confidence in him. I'm very comfortable with him out on the floor, and I think any team in the league would be comfortable with him playing major minutes. He gives you that effort every day."

--F Ime Udoka was signed last week to provide defense and occasional scoring, and he has done just that. Considering the 32-year-old veteran is so commonly referred as a "glue-guy," it's worth nothing that his plus-minus performance in his first two games with the Kings has been superb: a plus-19 in Saturday's win at Utah and a plus-seven against Golden State on Sunday. He's not flashy, but the Kings are playing well when he's on the floor.

--G/F Francisco Garcia (right wrist fracture) is out at least until mid-February after his exercise ball accident on Oct. 9. The fifth-year player was bench pressing with 90-pound dumbbells in each arm when the ball exploded and the weights caused the injury that required surgery.

--G Kevin Martin (hairline fracture, left wrist) underwent surgery Monday and will miss at least eight weeks. Martin suffered the injury during last Monday's game against Memphis in which he scored 48 points, but the injury wasn't revealed until he had tallied 29 points and 11 rebounds against Atlanta on Wednesday and finally received the diagnosis Thursday.
