Sacramento Kings Roster Report 2009-11-05

Sacramento Kings Roster Report 2009-11-05ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Tyreke Evans, Shooting guard Kevin Martin, Small forward Andres Nocioni, Power forward Jason Thompson, Center Spencer Hawes. Bench -- Guard Beno Udrih, Forward Omri Casspi, Forward Desmond Mason, Forward Kenny Thomas, Forward Jon Brockman.

PLAYER NOTES:

--C Spencer Hawes played his way back into the starting lineup with his breakout game Monday. But two days later, he did little to show he belonged in that role. Hawes had just six points and seven rebounds in 31 minutes against the Hawks and contributed greatly to Atlanta tallying 66 points in the paint.

--G Kevin Martin bruised his left wrist against Memphis on Monday and was a game-time decision against Atlanta two days later. The injury clearly didn't stop Martin from continue his scoring run, as he had 29 points on 11-of-22 shooting after scoring 48 against the Grizzlies.

--F Desmond Mason may be the odd man out with the signing of Ime Udoka. Mason was added before training camp with the hope that he would provide improved perimeter defense and occasional scoring. But the veteran who is playing on a nonguaranteed deal has hit just 11 of 40 shots and has seen his minutes dwindle. After playing in 17, 18, and 21 minutes, respectively, in the first three games, Mason played just seven minutes against Memphis and three minutes against Atlanta.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--G/F Francisco Garcia (right wrist fracture) is out at least until mid-February after his exercise ball accident on Oct. 9. The fifth-year player was bench pressing with 90-pound dumbbells in each arm when the ball exploded and the weights caused the injury that required surgery.
