Sacramento Kings Roster Report 2009-11-01

Sacramento Kings Roster Report 2009-11-01ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Tyreke Evans, Shooting guard Kevin Martin, Small forward Desmond Mason, Power forward Sean May, Center Jason Thompson. Bench -- Center Spencer Hawes, Forward Omri Casspi, Forward Andres Nocioni, Guard Sergio Rodriguez, Guard Beno Udrih, Forward Jon Brockman.

PLAYER NOTES:

--F Donte' Greene's team option for next season was picked up recently, so he has something to be happy about. Otherwise, though, Greene is clearly on the outside looking in of coach Paul Westphal's rotation. With rookie Omri Casspi getting the nod at reserve small forward, the second-year Greene has played a combined nine minutes through three games.

--F Sean May may be starting, but he's hardly being showcased. The veteran who was expected to come off the bench has been sharing the starting frontcourt with Jason Thompson, but he has played just 18, 22 and 15 minutes, respectively, in the Kings' three games. May has been a decent glue player but is hardly making impact. He has a combined 17 points and nine rebounds.

--G Tyreke Evans got a challenging look at life as an NBA point guard on the Kings' season-opening trip, facing Oklahoma City's rising star, Russell Westbrook, New Orleans' Chris Paul and San Antonio's Tony Parker. After going toe to toe with Paul Friday, Evans struggled mightily against Parker (24 points, seven assists). Evans had just six points and six assists in 24 minutes. He sprained his right ankle in the fourth quarter but is expected to play Monday against Memphis.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--G/F Francisco Garcia (right wrist fracture) is out at least until mid-February after his exercise ball accident on Oct. 9. The fifth-year player was bench pressing with 90-pound dumbbells in each arm when the ball exploded and the weights caused the injury that required surgery.

--F Kenny Thomas (flu-like symptoms) did not travel with the Kings on their current road trip. It is not known when he will join the team, as he is considered day-to-day.
