Sacramento Kings Roster Report 2009-10-08

Sacramento Kings Roster Report 2009-10-08PLAYER NEWS:

--G Beno Udrih damaged his left knee ligament in a Sept. 3 game between his Slovenian team and Germany and did not compete in Eurobasket 2009.

He was expected to be fully recovered for the start of Kings training camp on Sept. 29 but sat out the team's first scrimmage. Udrih said he will wear a brace for leading up to the regular season a precautionary measure.

--F Sean May earned $100,000 Sept. 30 by dropping weight because his one-year Kings contract has a weight clause, according to The Sacramento Bee. May had to weigh in at 265 pounds or less on Sept. 30 or Oct. 27, and he weighed in at 261 pounds.

--F Francisco Garcia suffered a fractured right ring finger in early September while playing with the Dominican Republic national team but has been taking full part in the Kings action thus far.

MEDICAL WATCH: None.

DRAFT PICKS:

--G Tyreke Evans, 6-5, Memphis (first round) -- The Kings love his ability to get to the rim and defend, but hope he improves his shooting and passing.

--F Omri Casspi, 6-9, Maccabi Tel Aviv (first round) -- He was drafted for his energy and toughness, as Casspi is a fiery competitor who excels in the up-tempo game. He must add muscle and improve his shooting.

--F Jon Brockman, 6-7, Washington (second round) -- The former teammate of Kings center Spencer Hawes is a bruiser in every sense of the word, but his lack of size or athleticism will make this quite a challenge for him.
