Sacramento Kings Roster Report 2009-03-23

Sacramento Kings Roster Report 2009-03-23
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Beno Udrih, Shooting guard Kevin Martin, Small forward Francisco Garcia, Power forward Jason Thompson, Center Spencer Hawes. Bench -- Point guard Will Solomon, Guard Rashad McCants, Forward Donte' Greene, Center Calvin Booth.

PLAYER NOTES:

--G Bobby Jackson decided against having corrective surgery on his fractured left cheek bone on Friday and is expected to return to action for the final stretch of the season. Jackson suffered the injury against Cleveland on March 13. The veteran who had been playing his best basketball of the season may not play until next week, however.

--G Kevin Martin had carried much of the Kings' offensive load for most of the season, and the last month had been no different. But after scoring 19-plus points in 11 of the previous 12 games, the team's leading scorer who entered averaging 24.3 points per game had just 16 points on 4-of-14 shooting and converted just one of eight three-pointers.

--G Will Solomon has fallen out of the rotation of Kings coach Kenny Natt. The free-agent-to-be point guard who was given a potential game-winning attempt against Cleveland on March 13 has seen his minutes decline since then, from 24 against the Cavaliers to 13, 12, eight, six, and seven in the five games since. While part of the playing time decrease is certainly due to the return of Beno Udrih on March 15 after his six-game absence, Solomon has also been so eager to look for his own shot that Natt has hesitated to let him loose for too long.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--G Bobby Jackson (fractured left cheek bone, day to day).

--F Andres Nocioni (right quadriceps tendinitis, day to day).
