Sacramento Kings Roster Report 2009-03-16

Sacramento Kings Roster Report 2009-03-16
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Beno Udrih, Shooting guard Kevin Martin, Small forward Andres Nocioni, Power forward Jason Thompson, Center Spencer Hawes. Bench -- Small forward Francisco Garcia, Point guard Will Solomon, Guard Rashad McCants, Forward Donte' Greene.

PLAYER NOTES:

--G Bobby Jackson suffered a fractured left cheek bone Friday against Cleveland and will be re-evaluated Monday. The veteran, who had been playing his best basketball of the season, did not travel with the team on its current four-game East Coast swing.

--G Beno Udrih returned to action after missing the Kings' previous six games with a sprained right foot. In Udrih's absence, Jackson had provided his typical punch while newly-acquired point guard Will Solomon continued to establish a significant role. Considering coach Kenny Natt has said recently that he will have a short leash for players who don't bring energy or defend to his liking, it will be interesting to see how Udrih fits in from now until the end of the season.

The incumbent got off to a good start against Washington on Sunday, finishing with 10 points, seven assists and two turnovers in 29 minutes.

--F Jason Thompson continues to give maximum effort every night. Against Washington on Sunday, it resulted in the most balanced outing of his rookie season. Thompson had 14 points on nine shots, grabbed 14 rebounds and had a career-high four blocks in 36 minutes. The youngster has been greatly aided by the Kings' decision to trade Brad Miller to Chicago and subsequently waive veteran forward Drew Gooden when he arrived in return.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--G Bobby Jackson (fractured left cheek bone, out).
