Sacramento Kings Roster Report 2009-03-02

Sacramento Kings Roster Report 2009-03-02
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Bobby Jackson, Shooting guard Kevin Martin, Small forward Francisco Garcia, Power forward Jason Thompson, Center Spencer Hawes. Bench -- Small forward Andres Nocioni, Guard Bobby Jackson, Guard Rashad McCants.

PLAYER NOTES:

--G Bobby Jackson is carrying a far heavier load than even he'd anticipated in recent games. With PG Beno Udrih out for the last two games due to a sprained right foot, Jackson -- the veteran who has said all season he would prefer not to play 30-plus minutes -- logged 30 minutes against Utah in the starting role and had 14 points but just one assist. Jackson played 34 minutes against Charlotte on Wednesday and played 36 minutes against the Clippers on Friday. He entered Saturday's game averaging 19 minutes for the season.

--G Kevin Martin had scored 20-plus points in five of the last six games entering Saturday's game at Utah. But he scored 19 points, had four turnovers and was just 6-for-16 from the field against the Jazz.

--G Will Solomon had his best game yet with the Kings against Utah on Saturday. The 30-year-old point guard, acquired from Toronto just before the trade deadline, hit three of five shots for nine points, but had just one assist in 17 minutes. If Udrih remains out, Solomon should have a chance to shine, as the Kings are short on true point guards.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--G Beno Udrih (sprained right foot) is day-to-day.

--F Drew Gooden (groin) is day-to-day.
