--In the final two games of the Kings' road trip, they managed to avoid monstrous blowouts at Cleveland and Boston. They fell by seven points to the Cavaliers on Tuesday and by 19 to the Celtics on Wednesday, with neither game coming close to the Kings' 45-point drubbing courtesy of the Celtics at Arco Arena on Dec. 28.
--With a record of 0-20 against Eastern Conference teams this season, the Kings continue to build on their NBA record for a winless conference mark. The previous record was 17, set by Denver in the 1997-98 season. --The Kings' defense continues to be nothing short of atrocious. They have allowed 100-plus points in 10 straight games while their opponents have averaged 120.4 points per game.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "You bring guys in and you just hope those guys are headstrong and ready to come in and keep the tempo going. They didn't move the basketball, got a little selfish, and we had a lot of turnovers and didn't execute." -- Kings coach Kenny Natt, whose team led Boston 30-28 after the first quarter at TD Banknorth Garden on Wednesday before losing the second quarter 40-19.
