Sacramento Kings Notes, Quotes 2008-12-14
--There has been much attention paid this season to the Kings' inability to defend opponents' 3-point looks. And while their dead-last ranking in that category warrants the focus on futility (they allow 43 percent), they are equally bad at hitting 3s of their own. After hitting just three of 23 from beyond the arc in Saturday's loss to the Knicks, the Kings are shooting 30 percent from 3-point range and are tied for last.

--The Kings have reached such depths that they are being dominated on both ends of the floor. For all their defensive ineptitude, they are quickly becoming one of the worst shooting teams in the league. They haven't shot 50 percent or better in a game since a Nov. 23 loss to the Lakers. They hit a season-low 29.3 percent from the field in a loss to Denver on Dec. 6.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "I just thought our guys got burned on the perimeter. Guys got burned underneath the basket. Sometimes you just have to guard your own man and then stick to our principles." -- Kings coach Reggie Theus, on his team's loss to the Knicks.
