--Not too long ago, Portland was the franchise that was hurting so badly at the turnstiles and looking for ways to rebuild and recover. The Kings, meanwhile, had the league's longest sellout streak at Arco Arena and could seemingly always draw big crowds.
But as the Blazers entered Arco Arena on Friday night, they were the team whose home attendance soared (20,581, third in the league) while the Kings' had plummeted (12,049, 29th in the league). The matchup continued the trend, as only 12,056 were in attendance. --According to the Sacramento Bee, the Kings will be adding a new member to their front office. Jason Levien, who is an agent and attorney and who represents Kings shooting guard Kevin Martin, is expected to be named as the team's assistant general manager. As it currently stands, the Kings' front office consists of basketball president Geoff Petrie and basketball vice president Wayne Cooper.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "If you were watching the game, you'd see that they were shooting with a hand in their face a lot of the times and they just made shots. Other times they were wide open. There's no defending the three when they're knocking down shots." -- Kings coach Reggie Theus, on Portland hitting 14 of 26 threes on Friday.
