--The Kings have lost 10 of their last 11 meetings against Phoenix. They entered having lost those games by an average margin of 15.6 points.
--With the absence of Steve Nash and Leandro Barbosa in Phoenix's Friday visit to Arco Arena, irony came into play. Literally. Suns rookie reserve Sean Singletary -- a second-round Kings draft pick who was traded to Houston as part of the Ron Artest trade, waived and eventually signed by the Suns -- played 23 minutes. He hit 2-of-7 shots for five points and had five rebounds. Nash was suspended by the league for one game and small forward Matt Barnes for two in relation to the Suns' skirmish with Houston in Wednesday night's game.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "I thought we played very well. I thought we played very much under control and did what we had to do. When it came down to it, Amare (Stoudemire) made plays down the stretch." -- Kings coach Reggie Theus, on his team's loss to Phoenix.
