Sacramento Kings Notes, Quotes 2009-06-15
--With Philadelphia having hired Eddie Jordan as its coach, the Kings were once again the only team in the NBA with a head coaching vacancy. They reached an agreement on June 9 with Paul Westphal.

--Before the Kings headed for the NBA Pre-draft Combine in Chicago from May 27 to May 29, they held their first Sacramento workout in preparation for the June 25.

The featured player in the event was UCLA point guard Jrue Holiday, a 6-foot-3, 18-year-old talent who could very well wind up being their pick at the No. 4 spot. They resumed workouts on June 4 in Sacramento, with Holiday's older teammate, point guard Darren Collison, a headliner along with Israel's Omri Casspi. From there, the Kings were scheduled to work out a high-profile list of prospects that included Louisville's Earl Clark, Wake Forest's James Johnson, LSU's DeJuan Blair, Memphis' Tyreke Evans, and Arizona State's James Harden.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "I wouldn't say that (he has made a decision). I'm glad we don't have to make a decision today. There's more work to do." -- Kings president of basketball operations Geoff Petrie on the No. 4 pick in the draft, as told to The Sacramento Bee.
