--The Kings may have avoided going winless against the Eastern Conference by downing the Knicks on Friday, but still finished the season with the worst inter-conference record in league history.
According to the Elias Sports Bureau, their 1-29 mark supplants the 1986-87 Clippers (1-21 against the East) and trumps the 1997-98 Denver Nuggets (2-28 against the East), the 2000-01 Chicago Bulls (2-26 against the West) and the 1981-82 Clippers (2-20 against the East). --The Kings reverted to their poorly-defending ways in a loss to Philadelphia on Sunday, as their 112 points allowed marked the seventh time in the last nine games a team scored 100-plus points against them. The only exceptions came in a loss to Oklahoma City on March 10 (99-98) and Friday's win over the Knicks (121-94). For the season, the Kings are ranked 29th and entered Sunday's game having allowed an average of 108.3 points per game.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "I don't think because we finally won a game against the East that we got comfortable... I just don't think we had that same edge and energy that we had on the road." -- Kings forward Jason Thompson, whose team was routed by Philadelphia on Sunday after blowing out the Knicks in New York on Friday.
