Sacramento Kings Getting Inside 2009-12-08

Sacramento Kings Getting Inside 2009-12-08Paul Westphal predicted this.

The Kings' coach didn't necessarily say his team would lose two straight to Phoenix and Miami, but he did forewarn the team's fans that the upcoming schedule would present quite the challenge. The statement came after his team downed Indiana on Wednesday and improved to 9-8, and Westphal said he would whip out a celebratory cigar if his team still had a winning record a week later.

Sure enough, they ran into a Phoenix team that was badly in need of a win after falling to Cleveland and New York. The Heat were coming off their heartbreaking loss to the Lakers Friday which negated their solid effort and led them to an eighth loss in 12 tries.

The road will only get harder from here, as they play Tuesday at New Orleans and Wednesday at San Antonio.

HEAT 115, KINGS 102: The Kings didn't guard Dwyane Wade or anyone else, as the Heat shot 58.6 percent. Wade had 34 points and 10 assists. Quentin Richardson and Michael Beasley had 20 points apiece, and Udonis Haslem and Dorell Wright had a combined 34 points off the bench.
