Sacramento Kings Getting Inside 2009-03-23

Sacramento Kings Getting Inside 2009-03-23
On the night the Kings finished the Eastern Conference portion of this season's schedule with a 1-29 mark that is the worst in league history, you would think the history surrounding their loss to Philadelphia was indication enough of how horrific this season has been.

But the fact that the Kings lost after winning the previous game was yet another revealing fact, as they have now gone nearly four months without winning consecutive games. It has only happened once this season, when their three-game winning streak on Nov. 5, Nov. 7, and Nov. 9 against Memphis, Minnesota and Golden State gave them a 3-4 record. They have had 12 wins since then, each of them followed by a loss.

If the latest cause of defeat is fatigue, the Kings -- who completed a four-game-in-seven-day East Coast road trip Sunday -- now have four days to prepare for Friday's home game against Philadelphia. Should they down the Grizzlies, their latest chance to win two straight would take place at home against Phoenix on Sunday.

SIXERS 112, KINGS 100: Andre Iguodala made sure the Kings would return to their losing ways early, as the Sixers' small forward hit his first 10 shots and his team never looked back at Arco Arena on Sunday.

Philadelphia led by as many as 20 points in the first quarter and simply had to hold on from there as the Sixers shot 59.7 percent overall. The Kings, who had routed New York on Friday, had 19 turnovers that compounded matters as well.
