After an blowing out Chicago 116-74 on Thursday night, Portland (8-6) defeated Sacramento 117-96 on Friday. Against the Kings (5-10), the Trail Blazers shot a season-high 55.6 percent from the field and made 14 of 26 shots from behind the 3-point arc - their most 3s since hitting 16 on Jan. 14, 2005.

Steve Blake led the way with a game-high 20 points and a career-high six 3-pointers, while LaMarcus Aldridge finished with 19 points.

"These guys (Portland) are pretty good, I mean they played great," Sacramento coach Reggie Theus said. "They shot lights out. I can't even dissect the game tonight because I think we played OK and they just played great."

The Blazers couldn't sustain the momentum from those two wins, though, as they lost 102-92 to Phoenix on Saturday.

Portland scored only 36 first-half points, and shot 38.9 percent (35-for-90) in the game - its lowest since making 34.5 percent of its field-goal attempts in a season-opening loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. The Blazers have thrived on their perimeter game, as they rank second in the league in 3-point shooting (41.9 percent), but they shot a season-low 32.4 percent (11-for-34) from beyond the arc Saturday.

"There was not a lot of movement in the first half, basically one pass and a shot as opposed to when we got some movement and we got in to our pick and rolls," Blazers coach Nate McMillan said. "We got 90 attempts and if they are going to give you opportunities we have to knock them down."

Brandon Roy scored a game-high 26 points, but Portland placed only three players in double figures after six scored 10 or more points against the Kings.

Greg Oden was limited to five points and one rebound in 14 minutes after recording seven points and eight boards in Friday's win.

The Blazers should be able to get their offense rolling again versus Sacramento, which is allowing 104.9 points per game - second-most in the league.

On Sunday night, the Kings suffered their second straight loss and fifth in six games, 118-108 to the Lakers at Staples Center.

"Our guys never quit," Theus said. "Sometimes they do not play that great, but they never quit."

With Kevin Martin and Mikki Moore both sidelined due to ankle injuries, the Kings have been receiving a big lift from rookie Jason Thompson, who had 15 points and seven rebounds on Sunday.

The 6-foot-11 Thompson has started all eight games since Martin went down with his injury, and has averaged 13.1 points and 7.9 boards in those contests.
