Kings-Clippers Preview
The Sacramento Kings finally experienced a home loss in their most recent game, but they've yet to garner a road victory.

Before the last time they took the court, the Los Angeles Clippers had yet to experience a win of any kind.

The Clippers will be looking for their first back-to-back wins since late February on Wednesday when they welcome in the Kings, who are trying to win a November road game for the first time in nearly two years.

Los Angeles lost its first six games by an average of 18.8 points, but it wasn't like Mike Dunleavy's team hadn't been losing to quality competition. The Clippers faced a playoff team each time they took the court, including the Lakers and Jazz twice apiece.

Another one was on the schedule Sunday at Staples Center, but Los Angeles (1-6) finally became the West's last team to get a win. Six Clippers scored in double figures, led by 22 points and 10 assists from Baron Davis, in the 103-92 victory over Dallas.

"We let a couple of games get away that we had control of," Davis said. "But once you get that first one, it just takes the monkey of your back and you realize that you know how to win."

Davis is second on the team in scoring at 15.5 points per game, but he's shooting just 39.1 percent from the field. He is also making only 28.9 percent of his 3-point attempts despite averaging 6.3 shots from beyond the arc - the seventh-most in the NBA.

Davis is one of nine new players the Clippers are trying to get on the same page, a list that includes center Marcus Camby, who missed the team's first three games due to injury. He's already making a difference defensively, averaging 10.8 rebounds and 2.5 blocks.

"We've all been patient with each other and we've just been trying to work through things," Davis said of his new team, which hasn't won consecutive games since Feb. 20-22. "We're still a work in progress and a team that's trying to form an identity."

The Kings (3-5) lost their first nine road games in 2007-08, and they dropped their first four away from home this season by an average of 20 points.

But those losses were Sacramento's first four games anywhere. The Kings returned to Arco Arena and won their first three home games by an average of 11.3 points. They couldn't make it 4-for-4 on Tuesday, however, blowing a fourth-quarter lead and falling 100-92 to Detroit.

"It's a learning experience," coach Reggie Theus said. "You've got to learn how to win games. You've got to learn how to win down the stretch."

Sacramento hung in with the Pistons despite being without leading scorer Kevin Martin (22.4 ppg), who will miss at least a week due to an ankle sprain suffered in Sunday's win over Golden State.

Before the loss to Detroit, the Kings had been 2-0 with center Brad Miller back in the lineup. Miller was suspended for the team's first five games for violating the league's anti-drug policy, but he's averaged 10.7 points, 9.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists since returning.

Sacramento will need all the help it can get against Camby and Chris Kaman, who both average more than 10 rebounds per game.

The Clippers have won five of seven against Sacramento, including three of four in Los Angeles.
